Latinx Therapy In California
With Gabriela Ucrós, LMFT
Since 2014, I have worked with Latinxs individuals and communities around the world in Colombia, New Zealand, Illinois and California.
Do you feel trapped between cultures?
Do you carry responsibilities that feel bigger than you?
Generational expectations are heavy and first generation stress is real. Many of my clients are the caretaker, the translator, the parentified child. For others, depression, anxiety, and burn out showed up quietly.
Taking up space and caring for yourself can feel rebellious. But it’s essential.
Therapy is meant to be accessible, equitable and inclusive. Therapy is also for you
Clients Come To Me For:

Stuck between cultures
Caretaker burnout
Generational pressure
Intergenerational trauma
Depression
Anxiety

Embrace Who You Are
Taking care of yourself is not selfish.
It’s powerful.
“Gabriela helped me understand my generational traumas and regulate my nervous system. She also helped me transform my shame into compassion as a survivor of sexual abuse, allowing me to heal within my body. Gabriela understood my struggle as a Latina raised in the United States; she helped me overcome the limiting belief I held about myself, where I felt I wasn't 'Latina enough.' Now, I can share all our Latin traditions with my son from a place of love rather than guilt or fear. Gabriela helped me heal on deep levels, and I thank her with all my heart." -Former Client

About Gabriela Ucrós, LMFT
I studied psychology in Colombia and completed my MS in Marriage and Family therapy in 2020. I have lived in Colombia, New Zealand, and the United States. I know what it feels like when different countries bring out different parts of you.
I love working within our culture because I want us to resonate around our shared identities. In our work, we use the therapeutic relationship as a mirror; a place where you can see your true self reflected with clarity and honor.
My style is direct yet compassionate. I will hold you accountable to your growth and your potential, all while deeply honoring the sacredness of your story and the ancestral wisdom carried in your bones. Together, we don't just process pain; we reclaim the resilience and medicine passed down through your lineage.
Outside of therapy, I am a marathon runner, sing in an adult choir, dancer, and mom to an 8-month-old boy.
Availability: I work with clients in person in Santa Monica, and via Telehealth across California.
